Mrs. Willie Bell Touchstone, affectionately known as “Dear” by her daughter, age 93, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Brightmoor Nursing Center. Willie Bell was born on Tuesday, January 1, 1924 in Forsyth, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eloise Tanner; sister, Mable Lyons; brother-in-law, Joe Lyons; dear friend, Loretta Chambley Westbury. Willie Bell was a member of the Eighth Street Baptist Church. Willie Bell is survived by her daughter, Maxine Freeman; granddaughters, Chaketa L. Maddox and Deborah E. Johnson; great-granddaughter, Trakeirra L. Head; extended family, Jim and Linda Westbury, the Penny Westbury Griffin family, the Patti Westbury Brock family, the James Westbury family and the Joe Westbury family; special friends, Marcia Jester, Joann Goodrum, Emily Luke, Robert Berry, Mary Stinson, David Ogletree-cousin; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Bell Touchstone will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Eighth Street Baptist. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
