Mrs. Thelma Bellew Collins, age 90, of High Falls, Georgia, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin, Georgia. She was born on Tuesday, May 10, 1927 in Demorest, Georgia to the late Joseph Jasper Bellew and the late Dema Wooton Bellew. She was preceded in death by husband, C.J. Collins; daughter, Gay Collins McClain. Thelma and her husband, C.J. were the former owners of Collins Transmission in Riverdale. She was a member of the Providence Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Collins is survived by her; children and their spouses, Tommy and Jennifer Collins, Benson and Deborah Collins, Mary Ann and Ronald Whitley; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Phillips; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Collins will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mary Jo Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Flowers will be accepted, however those desiring may make a contribution to a charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Thelma Collins.
