Mr. John “Sam” Samuel Smith, age 74, of Cork, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital. He was born on Sunday, January 10, 1943 in Cork, Georgia to the late Rufus Morris “Jack” Smith and the late John Hazel Vaughn Smith. Sam enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching Westerns. He loved spending time with friends and family. Sam was a member of Flovilla Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, David England; sister, Jackie Lynch. Sam is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margie Lee Smith; children, Donnie England, Ronnie England, Elaine Smith, Morris Smith, Sandra Pacchioli, and Sammy Smith; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Johanna and Marc Anderson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service for Mr. Sam Smith will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Neal Wall officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
