Obituary of Carl Moody Finney
Mr. Carl Moody Finney, age 80, of Jackson, GA passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Westbury Medical Care Home. Carl was born on Wednesday, June 30, 1937 in Arkwright, GA to the late Mack Grey Finney and the late Lessie Iola Mackey Finney. He was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church. Carl loved his God, church, family, and dogs. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and loved aviation. Carl also loved all sports and collecting caps. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith McClain, Carol Chavies, Loretta Browning, Barbara Underwood, and brothers, Mackey Finney and Paul Finney.
Carl is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Bailey Finney; children, Sherri and Mike Adgie, William and Edie Oliver; grandchildren, Shane Oliver, Misti Bassett, Eron Bennett, Zachary Adgie, Benjamin Adgie, and Joseph Adgie; great-grandchildren, Tori, Zac, Tanner, Jaci, and Alec; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Carl Finney will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Will Zant, Reverend Chris Shultz, and Mr. Jerry McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
