Mrs. Martha Powell, age 85, of Jackson, GA passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice.  Martha was born on Monday, May 8, 1933 to the late Frederick Dougan and the late Mary Anges Cooper Dougan. She was a member of the Jackson Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling and loved going on cruises. Martha and her husband, Bill, have been on many cruises together as well as traveling the country.  

Martha is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Powell of Jackson; daughter, Linda Brackett; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Frances Powell of Stockbridge; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kari and John Trawick of Monticello; grandsons, Joseph Brackett of Jackson, Nicholas Powell of Stockbridge; great-grandchildren, Charlie Trawick, Jack Trawick, Anna Trawick.

A memorial service for Mrs. Martha Powell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Jackson Presbyterian Church with Reverend Becky Baker officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate to the Jackson Presbyterian Church, 240 N Oak St, Jackson, GA 30233. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com.
