Mr. Joshua Shane Chafin, age 39, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Joshua was born on Thursday, July 9, 1981 in South Williamson, Kentucky to the late Mr. Roy “Rocky” Chafin and Mrs. Cora Lynn Savage Chafin Bacon. Joshua was also preceded in death by his nephew, Keegan Chafin. He worked at Oconee Metal. Joshua was an avid Tar Heels fan, loved Michael Jordan and NASCAR. He attended Stewart Baptist Church in Newton County. Joshua is survived by his mother and father, Cora and Paul Bacon; sister and brother-in-law, Pascha Chafin-Gaylor and Brian Gaylor; nieces, Aubree Gaylor and Kaydan Gaylor; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Mr. Joshua Chafin will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Stewart Baptist Church, 158 Stewart Church Road, Covington, Georgia 30014. Reverend Jerry Jones will officiate. Friends may visit the family following the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in a family cemetery in West Virginia.
