Obituary of Bobby Ray Gordon

Mr. Bobby Ray Gordon, age 76, of Monticello, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Bobby was born on Friday, June 25, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Thomas and Lillie Gordon. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Warren Gordon. Bobby served proudly in the United States Navy including the Vietnam War. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Forsyth. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, mostly hunting, fishing, and camping.  He also enjoyed visiting State Parks and riding motorcycles. He will be deeply missed.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Diane Gordon; children and spouses, LaTonia and Kyle Moncrief, Melanie Salas, Brent and Casey Pettis, Clint and Crystal Pettis; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mr. Bobby Gordon will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Reeves and Brother Ronnie Duffey officiating. Interment will take place at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
