


Obituary of Burice Dennard
Mrs. Burice “Bootsie” Dennard, age 93, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Bootsie was born on Monday, October 19, 1931, in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Wayne Gillespie and the late Mildred Crawford Gillespie. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leland Rudolph “Rudy” Dennard; great-grandson, Miles Griffin; brother, Ronnie Gillespie. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Bootsie enjoyed crocheting, dancing, playing cards, cooking, baking, and fishing. She also loved a good bowl of butter pecan ice cream. Bootsie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bootsie is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Dennard; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dean Powell; grandchildren, Rachel Griffin (Ryan), Kyle Dennard (Jill), Colin Dennard, Caroline Henson (Alex), Erin Schrock (Shawn), Tyler Powell (Haylee); 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service for Mrs. Burice “Bootsie” Dennard will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Powell and Reverend Doug McBee officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. prior to the service at the church.
