


Obituary of Mary Helen Wood
Mrs. Mary Helen Wood age 87, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Mary was born on Friday, September 24, 1937, in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Guy E. Gray. and the late Roxie Daniel Gray. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wood; son, Fred Wood; grandson, James Timothy Wood, Jr., William Keith Wood, Jr.; sister, Rachael Goglia; brother, Gerald Gray.
Mary was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother to her children. She was a member of the Eastern Star as well as a member of Kelly Chapel Church in Decatur.
Mary is survived by her children; Tim Wood (Becky), Bill Wood (Karen), Chris Hall (Ronnie), Teresa Wood, grandchildren; Brandi Wood Barlow, Brad Wood, Jason Wood, Russ Wood, Holly Wood, Michelle Wood, Nikki Stevens, Casey Wood, Thomas Petty, Zachary Hall, Chase Hall, Dale Wood, Chad Powers ; 30 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Gerry Gray, Marie Mccord. Several nieces, nephews, extended family.
A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Helen Wood will be Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., in the chapel of Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home with Bro. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
