Mrs. Glenda Cheryl Vega, age 70, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025.

Glenda was born on Tuesday, December 21, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Willie Frank and Sadie Carter Parrott. Besides her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Selina Vega. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening, cats and dogs, and most importantly, her grandchildren. Her grandchildren would call her Hot Nanny, and it didn’t take long for her to be known as Hot Nanny to all who knew her. She worked for over 30 years in Education and was most recently a dedicated Paraprofessional at Locust Grove High School. She loved her job and her students, and they all felt the same about her. She had a love for life and always found a way to express it with a unique outfit for every occasion. She was loved so easily and out loud by all who knew her or got the chance to spend even a few minutes with her. 

Glenda is survived by her children; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Marcus Harris; sons, Jason Hopson and Jon Hopson; grandchildren and their spouses; Leigh and Andrew Sheets, Savannah Floyd, Montana and Jake Hill, Rylee Harris and Sadie Hopson; great-granddaughter, Brynleigh Sheets.

A funeral service for Mrs. Glenda Vega will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Joshua’s Place, with Pastor Rick Moncrief officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
