Mrs. Deborah J. Posey, age 70, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

 

Deborah was born Thursday, July 28, 1955, in Griffin, Georgia, to the late Claude Lamar Thurston and Beatrice Odessa Hardy. Deborah is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Felton Posey, III “Jay”, brothers, Ricky Thurston, Tony Thurston, sister, Brenda Wagner and daughter, Odessa Dawn Phillips "Cissy".

 

Deborah is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony (Ivy) Gilmore; grandchildren, Brianna McWhorter, Layla Gilmore, Gracie (James) Hamilton, Robert Phillips, and Jeremiah Gilmore; sisters, June Thurston Lane, Norma Thurston Lunsford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny (Sandra) Thurston, Donnie (Darlene) Thurston; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Deborah’s favorite things would be going to the beach, cooking, and mostly her family. She was a member of Eagle Brook Baptist Church, and she watched Rock Springs Church online.

 

 

A celebration of life for Ms. Deborah Posey will be held at a later date.
