Obituary of Jenny Brown

Mrs. Virginia Lee Tharpe “Jenny” Brown, age 66, of Dublin, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Jenny was born on Wednesday, May 27, 1959, in Forsyth, Georgia to the late George Alexander Tharpe, Jr. and the late Virginia Elizabeth Miller Tharpe. She enjoyed arts, crafts, and game shows. Jenny also enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, and traveling, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Jenny is survived by her husband of 46 years, Cliff Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Gincy and Kevin Moon; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Nicole Brown; grandchildren, Liliana Moon, Carter Moon, Caroline Moon, Lincoln Brown; sister, Trude Hinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many former 4-H students that she felt was her extended family.

A funeral service for Mrs. Jenny Brown will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Bob Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery in Griffin. Friends may visit the family on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
