Obituary of Harding Van Cook, Jr.
Mr. Harding Van Cook, Jr., age 79, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Wellstar- North Fulton Hospital.
Van was born on Wednesday, September 19, 1945, in Boaz, Alabama, to the late Harding Van Cook, Sr and the late Hester Ann Jones Cook. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Boatright Cook; daughter, Andrea Darleen Cook, six sisters. Van was a veteran of the United States Army; he served two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Allied Automotive as a Terminal Manager. He was an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. He enjoyed being on his tractor and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mr. Harding Van Cook, Jr. will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Sherell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bobby Shane Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
