Obituary of Roberta Mae Miley

Mrs. Roberta Mae “Tiny” Goss Miley, age 89, of Jackson, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025. 

Tiny, as she was lovingly called, was born on Monday, June 29, 1936, to the late Reverend James A. Goss and the late Linnie Mae Jones Goss. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvard Kenneth Miley; brother, Robert Goss; sisters, Frances McGuffey, Sara Jimerson, Faye Miley. Tiny was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and watching birds. Tiny loved plants and flowers and her koi pond. She will be deeply missed.

Tiny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Newton Maddox; grandson and wife, Jamie and Crystal Maddox; great-grandchildren, Taylor Maddox, Peyton Riley, Charlotte Maddox; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Charlie Hicks; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Roberta “Tiny” Miley will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Arthur Jett and Reverend Lamar Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and she will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
