Obituary of Michael Thomas Cleghorn

Mr. Michael Thomas “Mike” Cleghorn, age 70, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025.

Mike was born on Wednesday, January 5, 1955, in Dacula, Georgia, to the late Fletcher Thomas Cleghorn and the late Ruth Doster Cleghorn. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Phil Sailors, and sister, Caroline Jackson. Mike was an outdoorsman, especially while riding his tractor, and a lifelong Georgia Tech fan. He was also a “Mr. Fix It”, always helping others fix things that they couldn’t. He will be deeply missed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Christy Cleghorn; children, Tyler and Taylor Dooley, Sienna Cleghorn and Austin Haddock; grandchildren, Nicole Dooley, Elijah Fletcher Dooley, Zebulen Dooley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Donna Cleghorn, Tillman and Becky Sailors; sister, Linda Funk; sisters-in-law, Brenda Sailors, Misty Alliston; nephew, Lucas McKinney; niece, Emma McKinney

A memorial service for Mr. Mike Cleghorn will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sherell Memorial Chapel with Mrs. Amanda Westbury officiating. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
