Obituary of Kathy Boyer Bray

Mrs. Katherine Lynne Boyer Bray, age 71, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at St, Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Kathy was born on Sunday, October 3, 1954, in Sparta, Georgia, to the late Robert Woodfin Boyer and the late Francis Willet Smith Boyer. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Michael Bray; sister, Elizabeth Hamilton; and daughter, Angie Bouknecht.

Kathy was a very kind and loving person. She lived for her family. She was all about faith, family and love and never met a stranger.

Kathy is survived by her children, Steve Bray (Rhonda), Brett Bray (Casey), Brianna Bray (Tosha), Brandy Heinzen (John) was her niece but more like a daughter to Kathy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sherrell, Sabastian Cadle, Lawson Bray, Langston Bray, Griffin Heinzen, Grady Heinzen, Gage Heinzen, Stephen Bray (Tori), Andy Bray (Brittany), T.J. Bouknecht (Julia), Mallory Beaton (Alex); four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service for Mrs. Kathy Bray will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Russell Hardesty officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
