Obituary of Marie Fendley

Mrs. Marie Goodwin Fendley, age 83, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026.

Marie was born on Thursday, November 19, 1942, in Lynn Haven, Florida to the late Albert Goodwin and the late Jennie Morris Mills. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Fendley; brother, David Mills; sisters, Ruby Countryman, Dorothy Thurman, and Irene Carter. She was a member of Community Church of Praise in Stockbridge, Georgia. Marie loved going to church and watching Jimmy Swagart. She also enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and spending time with friends.  Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her children and spouses, Beverly and Spud Richards, Rena` Cochran, Keith and Tina Fendley; grandchildren, Gina Zielinski, Tiffany Richards, Jessica Carter, Cole Cochran, Jennifer Ball, Brandon Fendley, Paige Arnold, Jesse Fendley, Tim Casson; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Miller, Audrey Burns; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service for Mrs. Marie Fendley will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike McGaughey and Reverend Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
