Mrs. Gwendolyn Maddox “Gwen” Hamlin, age 76, formerly of the Worthville Community of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023.

 

Gwen was born on Wednesday, October 15, 1947, in Griffin, Georgia to the late Bernard Maddox and the late Elizabeth Smith Maddox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Fredrick Hamlin; brother, Marlon “Bro” Maddox; and her beloved poodle, Bo. Gwen retired from Snapper Power Equipment. She was a faithful and active member of Worthville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

 

Gwen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Hamlin & David Honea; brothers, Ludy Maddox and Phil Maddox; nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Gwen Hamlin will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating.  Friends may visit the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice Care for their loving care provided to Mrs. Gwen.
