Obituary of Myra Theresa McCord

Mrs. Myra McCord, age 71, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

 

Myra was born on Sunday, November 23, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Robert Clark Brown and the late Virginia Frances Fenn Brown. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Benny McCord; sisters, Lou Gregg, Carolyn Hopper; and brother, Darrell Brown. Myra enjoyed living the retired life with her husband.

 

Myra is survived by her son; Randy McCord (Kendra) of Jackson, sister; Kathleen Yates (Johnny) of Decatur, sister-in-law; Marie McCord; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 

A funeral service for Mrs. Myra McCord will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Dudley officiating.  Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
