Mr. Tracy Leon Couey, age 78, of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Couey was born in Altoona, Alabama on January 5, 1935 to the late Benjamin Franklin Couey and the late Annie Victoria Keenum Couey. He was the last surviving sibling of his parents 10 children. Mr. Couey was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War, and he later served in the National Guard. He was a machinist and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Couey is survived by his wife of 57 ½ years, Ginny Couey, of Jackson; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Elaine Couey, of Jackson, Greg and Therese Couey, of Jackson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Tracy Leon Couey will be conducted on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Clyde Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
