Bessie Lou Wise, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012. She was born August 23, 1922 in Rhine, GA to the late John W. and Bertha Dunn Cummings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, member of the Senior Women's Sunday School Class, enjoyed gardening, church, traveling, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hiram “Cotton” Wise, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Bessie Lou is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Julian Marsh; 2 granddaughters, Alison and Randy Hutcheson and Tara and Reggie Collins; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan, Rebekah, Morgan, Garrett, and Ansley; great-great-granddaughter, Kynslee; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Wilkes, of Vidalia, Eleanor and Dean Miller, of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bessie Lou Wise will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Wayne Collins and Rev. Daniel Peavy officiating. Interment will be at Pepperton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday evening.
