Jerry Milton Freeman, age 70, of Ellenwood, GA, passed away in Fulton County. He was born on May 7, 1942 in Atlanta, GA to the late John Milton Freeman and Martha Loraine Reynolds Freeman. Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force for 7 years with deployment to Taiwan and Vietnam. After military service, he enjoyed open road hauling special equipment for Superior Transport, Inc. for 7 years; then on to Roadway, Inc. where he was long haul driver for 7 years. He liked the road! He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired. He was well respected for his hard work. He enjoyed going to the movies, his dogs, Cocoa, Pepper and Sabrina, and loved spending time with his family. Jerry is survived by his wife, JoAnn Freeman, of Ellenwood; daughter, Bobbie Freeman, of Ellenwood; son, Scott Freeman, of Jackson; mother, Martha Johnson, of Jackson; an aunt, Virginia Blackurn; and 3 cousins, Dot Waldrop, W.G. Anderson, and Ann Hicken. Funeral services for Jerry Freeman will be held at 11AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday evening.
