Obituary of Dorothy Norris

Mrs. Dorothy Mae McMichael Norris, age 88, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Jackson. Mrs. Norris was born December 27, 1923 in McDonough, GA daughter of the late Charlie Vaud McMichael and the late Bessie Mae Young McMichael. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jesse A. Norris, and son, David Norris. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. Norris is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nita and Jon Scarberry and Joan and Bobby Haley; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Nancy Norris; grandsons, Jeremy, Kevin and Keith; brother, Edward McMichael; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Norris will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday evening.
