Mrs. Betty Ann Long Brown, age 75, of Jackson, GA, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 12, 1936 in Lawrenceville, GA to the late William Henry and Minnie Lucille Burton Long. She attended Eagles Way Church in Griffin and was previously employed by McKesson Distributors in Atlanta for many years. She worked with her husband at their produce stand in the Stark Community. Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening, making others happy, and being a good wife, mother, and friend. Betty is survived by her husband of 52 yrs, Glen Brown, of Jackson; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Linda and David Gilchrist, Patricia Rice and Rick Kmitta, all of Jackson; 5 sisters, Lillie Earnest, of Fayetteville, Irene Wheeler, of Conyers, Sarah Klett, of Fayetteville, Frances Brisendine, of Dunwoody, Susie Baker, of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, along with her cats, Tiger and Archie, and grand-dogs, Marko, Pupper, Luna, and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas Kimbell, and 8 sisters and brothers. Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Brown will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2011 in the Sherrell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buren Goss and Dr. Keith Wesley officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eagles Way Church Building Fund, 100 Hudson Rd., Griffin, GA 30224 or Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, GA 30253.
