Roxilu Kelton Bohrer, age 91, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at Doctors Hospital in Fayetteville, GA. She was born October 28, 1921 at Cork, GA, just south of Flovilla, in her parents farmhouse. Roxilu was the daughter of the late John and Mabel Smith Kelton. She retired from the Atlanta Public School System. She was a member of the Butts County Historical Society. Roxilu enjoyed farm life, gardening, reading, her pets, religious scripture, her family, her community and Butts County history. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bohrer, and her youngest son, James Bohrer. Roxilu is survived by her son, Bruce Bohrer, and his wife, Jean; grandson, Robert Bohrer; granddaughter, Ellen Bohrer Howes; daughter, Brenda Bohrer Novotny; and her brother, Harry Kelton. She was a loving and caring person, a wonderful mother and an extraordinary person of character. She will be missed by all that knew her. It was her wish to be cremated. A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 East College Street, Jackson, GA on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Her ashes will be interred at Sandy Creek Cemetery in Flovilla, GA.
