Mrs. Rita Jean Walker, age 72, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. She was born on Friday, March 5, 1948 in Jackson, Georgia, to the late Joseph Edwin James and the late Barbara Jane Waits James. Rita was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jackson, Georgia. She loved music, dancing, flowers, crafts, and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita is preceded in death by husband, Daniel Ray Walker; sisters, Faye Heath and Nancy Thaxton.
Rita is survived by her children, Dana Buice and Darius Walker; grandchildren, Brittany and Caleb Reynolds and Aleia Maddox; and greatgrandchildren, Houston West and Canaan Reynolds.
A funeral service for Mrs. Rita Walker will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will greet visitors before the service from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfuneralhome.com
