William Davis “Bill” Turner, age 71, of Griffin, GA, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 24, 1939 in Jackson, GA son of the late Wiley Davis and Geraldine Thompson Turner. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and mechanicing. Mr. Bill Turner is survived by his wife, Polly Danser Turner, of Griffin; 3 daughters, Joanne Singleton, of Griffin, Mary Ruth Turner, of Columbus, Brandy Turner, of Griffin; 7 sons, Billy Turner, Charles Turner, Bucky Turner, Jason Lee Turner, Dustin Turner, Jonathan Turner, Jacob Turner, all of Griffin; step-son, Odis Hatchett, of Griffin; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Betty Allen and Reggie Griffin, of Milner, Cindy Goolsby, of Griffin, Denise and Jeff Barnes, of Jackson; 3 brothers, Tony and Patricia Turner, Barry and Nancy Turner, David and Lisa Turner, all of Barnesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by step-son, Tommy Wright; 2 brothers, Snookie Turner and Philip Turner; 1 sister, Jean Turner Rodda. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Bill Turner Memorial Fund” at McIntosh State Bank, P.O.
