My condolences you and your family. Mr. Sherrell was a wonderful person full of compassion and grace. When my mother (Patricia Lorene Hopkins) passed away in 1987 at the age of 41, she was taken to Sherrell Funeral Home. I was amazed at how Mr. Sherrell took the time to try and make an unpleasant experience for me bearable. His words of kindness and understanding to this day have always meant a lot to me. He will be truly missed!

John was a great friend to me and my family. Will never forget the poem he wrote for my dad (Charles L James) when he past away in 2001. I have it framed and read it often and it makes me realize how impotant friends are in our lives. I know John and Dad are in heaven together and one day I will see them again. Thanks John for all you have done for everyone. God bless you and your family! Richard L James6

The Bible says the first commandment before all commandments is to Love thy God with all thy heart soul and mind and to love thy neighbor as thy self. Mr. John Sherrell did this in his daily walk here on earth and has left a legacy to all of knew him. He to me is a true example of what a christian should be. He is now in Heaven and I know he will be rewarded for all the kind acts he did here on earth. He will be missed!!!!

We loved Mr.John like he was part of the family, as a lot of people here in the county did. He will be missed something terrible. My daddy (William Parker) always spoke highly of him, and as I grew up I could understand why. He was a person that everyone could talk to about anything and always felt like he understood. Our sympathies are with the family. He is gone to a better palce now.

Dear Margaret and family as well as GRudy and family and all his many associates at Sherrell Westbury Funeral Home. John and I have had the pleasure of knowing this fine man for many years. He was always so kind, sweet and caring. For several years I would play the piano and sing for various funerals at the funeral home. He was an awesome inspiration to others in so many ways. I can 't imagine anyone having an unkind thing to say about this fine person. We are truly blessed to have known him. Bon voyage to such a talented and wonderful person. We"ll be seeing you in heaven my friend because there's no doubt that is where you are. Family, I pray God will wrap His everlasting arms around you and you will comforted by the millions of wonderful memories that I know that you have. Love, John and Dianne Fields

In my younger years as a Funeral Director, John Sherrell was a great source of encouragement. I consider it an honor to have worked with him. He was kind to share his experiences and remind me of the committment it takes to serve a community in the manner that we do. I believe the Jackson/Butts Co. area has been fortunate to have been served by such an honorable and professional man. Our family and staff here at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home have always considered the Sherrell-Westbury family and staff our dearest friends in the Funeral Profession. Our prayers are for each of you. Mr. John leaves an incredible legacy in our profession and he will be missed.

It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that we'll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. And even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles. Rest in peace sir, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25,26
