Mr. Hubert Gary Helms, age 76, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on Sunday, June 10, 1945 in Rome, Georgia. He was the Son of the late Marlin Lee Helms, Sr. and Roxie Carter. Gary loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He enjoyed going to the Waffle House, and watching the Braves, Hawks, and Falcons every chance he got. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Andrea Helms; daughters, Renee Rawlins, Michelle Bishop (Shane), and Denise Taylor; grandchildren, Daniel Rawlins, Justin Rawlins, Samantha Dobbs, Kassie Bishop, Shayna Sanders, Jeremy Bishop, Destiny Taylor, and Cameron Taylor; 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brothers, Marlin Lee Helms, Jr., and Herbert Helms; and a host of extended family. A funeral service for Mr. Hubert Gary Helms will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will greet friends and loved ones on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 East College Street, Jackson, Georgia is serving the Helms family.
