Obituary of Beatrice Washington

Beatrice Washington, of Flovilla, GA, formally of New York, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012. She was born September 13, 1925 in St. Helena Is, SC. Mrs. Washington attended Bethany 7th Day Adventist Church in Macon. She loved her Lord and enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Beatrice is survived by 4 daughters and son-in-law, Charlesetta Simmons, of NY, Beatrice Prentice, of NY, Alethia Williams, of Flovilla, GA, Gladys and Christopher Taylor, of CT; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Pauline Washington, of NY; sister, Elizabeth Polite, of NY; brother, Harry Simmons, of FL; 8 grandchildren, Marilyn, Nathan, Vivian, Andrea, Christopher, Victoria, Michael, Mark; 5 great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Hannah, Caleb, Evan, Kaylyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington, and a sister. Funeral services for Beatrice Washington will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Sherwin Jack, Pastor Donovan Washington, and Pastor Nathan Williams officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
