Mrs. Betty Sue Davis Cone, age 84, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at Westbury Medical Care Home. Betty was born June 1, 1928 in Spalding County to the late A.W. “Doc” Davis and the late Bessie Pierce Davis. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and Loyalty Sunday School Class. Betty was a retired L.P.N. from Spalding Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cone, and sister, Annette Davis Crowder Fletcher. Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Rudy Mangham, of Jackson, Rebecca and Wayne Hollingsworth, of Griffin; grandchildren, Ken and Kim Hollingsworth, Marty Mangham, Bryan and Seberna Hollingsworth, Rod and Hope Mangham; great-grandchildren, Ben Hollingsworth, Kennedy Hollingsworth, Brantley Hollingsworth, Madison Mangham, and Mason Mangham; several nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she was very close. Funeral services for Betty Cone will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Argin Floyd, Rudy Mangham, and Rev. Jay Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Griffin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Betty. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com.
