Obituary of William Pinckney Maynard, III

Mr. William “Bill” Pinckney Maynard, III, age 80, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

Bill was born Thursday, October 14, 1943, in the Republic of Panama to the late William Pinckney Maynard, Jr. and the late Thelma Lucille Nurse Maynard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Maynard. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Bill was the VP of Operations with Better Brands of Atlanta and later worked as a school bus driver for Butts County Schools. He was a certified international water scuba diver and loved the outdoors. Working with children and building things were some of his enjoyments in life. Family was the most important thing to him.

Bill is survived by wife of 58 years, Mae “Mazie” Maynard; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Katherine Maynard; daughter, Rebecca Maynard-Bishop; grandchildren, Madison, William, Maxwell, Riley Mae; siblings and spouses, Barbara McGrath, Robert and Kathy Maynard, Vickie and John Kovach several nieces, nephews.

 A memorial service for Mr. Bill Maynard will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Westview Cemetery Chapel, 1680 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30310. Inurnment will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Family Hospice, 175 Country Club Drive, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
