Obituary of James Thomas Hasty

Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Hasty, age 72, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Tom was born on Sunday, March 16, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Eugene Hasty and the late Jane Adelle Rowland Hasty. Tom was a member of Stark Methodist Church and served for over 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller. In high school he enjoyed baseball and football. He was a mason and an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, camping, training bird dogs, and playing golf were some of the things he loved to do. Tom also served as a quail hunting guide. Tom loved the Lord, he worshiped and praised God daily.

 

Tom is survived by his wife, Cindy Jo Murray Hasty; stepson, Andy Cook; sister and brother-in-law, Jan Hasty Woolbright (Rick); nieces, Jana Crigler, Luanne Brinkley; several great nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Tom Hasty will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Stark Methodist Church with Reverend Bob Wooten and Reverend Danny Duffey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Stark Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers at www.t2t.org.
