Obituary of John Harvey Hall, Sr.

Mr. John Harvey Hall, age 88, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024.

Harvey was born on Thursday, March 26, 1936, in Griffin, Georgia to the late John A. Hall and the late Ester Chambers Hall. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Hall; brother, Aaron Hall; and sister, Helen Maddox. Harvey only had two hobbies, hunting and fishing. If he couldn’t do one of those two things, you would hear about it. He was the owner/operator of Hall’s Chevron Service Station before retiring and working for Butts County. Harvey was a Scout Master, a Mason at St. John’s Lodge #45, a member of Jackson United Methodist Men’s Club, and a Butts County Kiwanis member. But most importantly, Harvey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith Hall; sons and their spouses, John (Michelle) Hall, Shawn (Ceason) Hall; grandchildren, Blake (Monica) Hall, Lauren Hall, Burkely Hall, and Brinnly Hall; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Hall will be held at11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Griffin Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may visit the family on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
