Obituary of Ronald Barnett Tallman
Mr. Ronald Barnett “Buddy” Tallman, age 90, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024.
Ronald was born Sunday, January 28, 1934, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Othel and Elma Tallman. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ronald Tallman, Jr, Richard Tallman, Robert Tallman, Stanley Tallman, Alan Tallman; daughters, Teresa Brooks, Melissa Rutledge; brother, Rollie Tallman; sisters, Legay Saul, Martha Jo Ellis. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Ronald retired from Crown Cork and Seal (formerly Continental Can Company) where he worked in Maintenance. He later worked at Sylvan Grove Hospital. Ronald also served as past president of Local Union 7541 United Steel Workers of America. He loved being outdoors and hunting and was the happiest fox hunting with his beloved fox hounds that always ate before anyone else. Ronald continued fox hunting into his 80’s.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Bell Tallman; son and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Michele Tallman, Greg and Dixie Tallman; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; hunting buddy and dear friend, Tillman Johnson.
Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Tallman will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Doug McBee officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening, December 19, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
