Mrs. Debra Gail Bateman "Debbie" Kuhn, age 69, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away at home surrounded by her husband and children on Friday, December 27, 2024.
Debbie was born on Tuesday, June 14, 1955 in Andrews, North Carolina to the late Cecil Bateman nad Inez Owenby Bateman of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She attended Tennesse Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennesse and taught school at West Side Christian school in Jackson, Georgia where she would meet and marry Joel Kuhn of Locust Grove, Georgia. They are active members of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Jackson, Georgia. Debbie's life passion was her family, she was a wonderful and dedicated wife and mother. She homeschooled her 10 children using the Bible as her guide book. She taught the children to read using the Bible and would have them memorize passages like Proverbs 3:5-6, preparing them for life. Debbie purposed in her heart to serve God in the role of wife and mother. Her other hobbies were camping and fishing, growing beautiful flowers and taking care of her chickens. She loved her kittens and going to the beach and picking up shells. Debbie was clearly a Proverbs 31 woman.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joel Kuhn; children and their spouses, Amanda and Keith Copeland of Barnesville, Georgia., Lori and David Olsen of Woodbury, Tennesse, Leah and Clint Awtry of Jackson, Georgia, Micah and Summer Kuhn of Locust Grove, Georgia, Justin and Lacee Kuhn of Manchester, Tennesse, Ethan and Hannah Kuhn of Locust Grove, Georgia, Jana and Robby Blankenship of Jackson, Georgia, Jonathan and Abby Kuhn of Monticello, Georgia, Noel and Micha Patrick of Forsyth, Georgia, Lydia and Chase Powell of Arcanum, Ohio; 40 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
