Mrs. Mary Len Tezza Davis passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. She was born October 4, 1931, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guido John Tezza, Sr. She was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church and assisted in teaching Sunday School in the Children’s Department from the early 1960’s until 1997. She was a devoted animal lover and was especially fond of her cats, birds, deer and foxes. She was awarded a certified designation for her backyard as a habitat for non-game wildlife by the Community Wildlife Project in 2010. Mrs. Davis retired from the Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation with more than 24 years of service. She and Mr. Davis moved to Jackson in July of 1957. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald E. Davis, in September 2000 and also by three brothers, Guido John (Jack) Tezza, Jr., Thomas (Tommy) Hugo Tezza, Sr. and Henry (Hank) Marco Tezza. Survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the devoted caregivers: Laura Harper, Brastella Griffin, Amy Harris, Denetia “Cooker” Ivester, Barbara Crumbley, Marian Baldwin and Keyshla Berrios for their excellent care and many years of service. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Davis will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. Phil Demore and Reverend Dr. Layne Jenkins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in the Jackson City Cemetery. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the building fund of Jackson United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 1880, Jackson, Georgia 30233 in memory of Mrs. Mary Len Tezza Davis. Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 East College Street, Jackson, is serving the Davis and Tezza families.
