Mrs. Betty Earl Parsons Harper, of Jackson, GA, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Monticello. She was born September 13, 1924 in Phenix City, AL to the late Tom and Warnie Patrick Parsons. She was of the baptist faith and loved her Lord above everything. She loved her grandchildren and her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening, carving, embroidery and traveling. Betty is survived by her husband, Henry Harper, of Jackson, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Thurston, of Flovilla, Patsy and Paul James, of Forsyth; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Mary Anne Harper, of Midway, GA, David and Kathy Harper, of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Harper; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Francis Parsons; sisters-in-law, Nell Parsons and Ruth Parsons, all of Phenix City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Andy Harper and Joshua Thurston, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Grave side services for Mrs. Betty Harper will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Flovilla City Cemetery with Rev. John Sherrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday evening. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.sherrellfh.com.
