Obituary of John Ward

John Louis Ward, age 85, of Waverly Hall, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Oak View Nursing Home. He was born on Thursday, August 23, 1928 in Lilborn, MO to the late Leonard O. Ward and the late Ora Taylor Ward. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vera Barron Ward. John is survived by his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Joy Ward of Griffin, GA, Reverend Stephen and Rita Ward of Phenix City, AL, and Dennis and Darlene Ward of Gulf Breeze, FL; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren. Grave side funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Jackson City Cemetery with Reverend William McCluskey and Reverend Stephen Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Christian Women’s Center, P.O. Box 773, Sunny Side, GA 30284-0773.
