Mrs. Helen Jeanett Johnson Pittman, age 85, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Thomson Manor Health & Rehab in Thomson, GA. Helen was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1928 in Atlanta, GA to the late Garland E. Johnson and the late Curtis Sanders Johsnon Magness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hansel Pittman Sr. and a grandson, Jimmy Pittman. She had worked as a waitress for many years and formerly worked at the Stark Store. Helen loved to plant flowers and was of the Baptist faith. Helen is survived by her children, W. H. Pittman Jr., Michael S. Pittman, Danny and Lucretia Pittman, Rita Pittman, Donnie Pittman and Fonda Ritcher; grandchildren, Amy, Rusty, Chad, Jodie, Jacob, Heather, Fonda, and Aronda; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Lou Sorenson; brother, Howard Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Helen J. Pittman will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
