Gloria Virginia Woodall Maddox, age 80, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her residence. Virginia was born Sunday, August 27, 1933 in Pontotoc, MS to the late Frank Woodall and the late Effie Lee Hoover Woodall. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Mary Lee Jones Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clarence Edward “Clem” Maddox.
Mrs. Maddox is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Wiese and John Campbell, of Suwanee, and Leigh and Mark F. Bradley, of Marietta; grandchildren, Jessica Houston, Carrie Fradenburg, Addison Wiese, Evan Bradley, Macee Wiese, and Crystal Hughes; great-grandchildren, Bailey Houston, Isabella Houston, Ansley Houston, Alison Houston, Sophia Houston, and Trader Wiese; brother, William Woodall; sisters, Frankie Jones, Sue Bowman, and Deloris Fralix; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Virginia Maddox will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Lane Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or the Macedonia Baptist Church, Live the Vision, 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, GA 30233 in memory of Mrs. Maddox.
