Mr. Ollie Franklin Peterson, age 84, of Jackson, GA, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Newton Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1930 in Rhine, Georgia. Mr. Peterson retired from General Motors. He was a member of Cedar Rock Church. Mr. Peterson was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Jimmie Moon Peterson, who passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Mr. Peterson is survived by his daughter, Linda Thomason of Jackson; sons, Richard and Jane Peterson of East Point, Wayne and Deborah Peterson of Conyers; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Eugene and Angie Peterson; sister, Georgia Silvey; several nieces and nephews Funeral services for Mr. Ollie Peterson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Preston Bridges and Reverend Greg Johns officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com.
