Mr. Albert Owen Thomas, age 79, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Locust Grove. He was born on Saturday, August 24, 1935 in Jackson to the late Ezra Thomas and the late Nannie Coleman Thomas. He was a member of the National Guard. He was a tractor mechanic employed by B & C Farm Supply. Owen loved John Wayne movies, working on tractors, fishing, and driving in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Ivey Thomas, and daughters, Kathryn Lynn Winters and Kathy Leigh Thomas. Owen is survived by his sons, James Michael Thomas, William Bradshaw and Jeff Bradshaw; daughters, Brenda Lovelady and Marie Simmons; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Singley; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Owen Thomas will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening.
