Mr. De’Arcy Errington Martin, age 74, of Covington, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge. De’Arcy was born on Thursday, January 23, 1941 in McDonough, GA to the late Clarence Errington Martin and the late Mary Lydia Hardy Martin. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Baxley, GA and was formerly employed by Georgia Power Company. De’Arcy served in the United States Army Signal Corps. He loved to work on clocks and watch westerns. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Martin. De’Arcy is survived by his brother, Phillip Wayne Martin of Covington; sister, Alice Faye McDaniel, of Rock Spring, GA; cousins, Susan and John Awtry, Roger and Benita Hardy, Kerry and Sue Hardy, Mike and Shelia Hardy, Sandy and John May; several nieces, nephews, and other cousins. Funeral services for De’Arcy Martin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Joey Seabolt and Reverend Nathan Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
