Obituary of G. Nick Malcom

George Nicholas Malcom, age 63, of Locust Grove, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on January 31, 1951 in Madison, GA to the late George Robert Malcom and the late Willie Sue Dye Malcom. Nick served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he formerly served as a deacon. He collected coins. Nick loved to read and shoot pool. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Greason Malcom; sister, Darlene Keener, and step-brother, Mike Griffeth. Nick is survived by his daughter, Amber Malcom and Travis Moody; sisters, Susan and Gary Griffeth, Pam and Tony Kirby; brother, Stanley and Wanda Malcom; step-mother, Betty Cheshire; step-brothers, Dala Griffeth and Craig Griffeth; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Nick Malcom will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Belew and Reverend Lamar Cole officiating. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
