Obituary of Barbara Duke

Mrs. Barbara Byars Duke, age 81, of Jackson, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Westbury Medical Care Home. She was born on Monday, March 26, 1934 in Atlanta to the late Luther Byars and the late Laura Mae McFall Byars. Barbara was a CNA at Sylvan Grove Hospital and a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lane Duke, and brother, Wayne Byars. Barbara is survived by her children, Billy and Jeanene Duke, Terry and Kathy Duke; grandchildren, Andy and Heather Duke, Holly and Wade Fields, Nick and Jessie Duke, Carlie Duke, and Tyler Duke; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Chloe, Emma Grace, and Robin; brother, Allen Byars; several nieces and nephews; and 3 sisters-in-law, Frankie Kersey, Dot Duke, and Olene Duke. Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Duke will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Second Baptist Church with Reverend Andy Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
