Obituary of W. Marlin Reese

Waldo Marlin Reese, age 76, of Jackson, GA, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at his residence. Marlin was born on Thursday, March 2, 1939 in Atlanta, GA to the late Waldo George Reese and the late Josephine Neal Reese Wallace. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Reese, and step-father, Matt Wallace. He proudly served in the United States Marines, Air Force, and Army. Marlin was a Mason, served as Past Master twice, and a past member of the Yaarab Temple of the Shrine. He was an avid deer hunter. Marlin was a member or Rock Springs Church. The family would like express their appreciation to The Shepherd Care Hospice for the care that Marlin received during his final days. Marlin is survived by his wife, Dale Dutton Reese; son, Tommy Reese; daughter, Darlene Reinsmith; grandsons, Marty Reese, Tyler Reinsmith, Stephen Reinsmith; granddaughter, Jessica Reese; great-grandchildren, Peyton Reese and Vivian Reese; brothers, Jerry Reese, Russell Reese, and Jeff Reese; mother-in-law, Marian Dutton; step-sons, Chris Dutton and Jonathon Austin; step-grandchildren, J.C. Dutton, Cheyenne Austin, Taylor Austin, and Dixie Austin, Briann Phillips, Carlos Norsworthy, Connor Phadogsy, Vince Phadogsy, and Adriana Phadogsy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Marlin Reese will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Darryl Woodruff officiating. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service Sunday afternoon.
