Debra Y. Ralston Van Meter, of Covington, GA, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at the age of 62 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1953 in Decatur GA. Debra attended Gaithers United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Anthony Van Meter; mother, Ada Belle Ralston; brother, Kenneth Ray Ralston; and grandson, David Joel Ralston. Debra is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Tommy Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Angela Ralston; grandchildren, Jacob Ralston, Gabriel Ralston, Luke Ralston, Abigail Ralston, and Ethan Ralston; father, Billy Ray Ralston; sister, Denise ReneƩ Land; brother, Alan Gary Ralston; mother-in-law, Shirley Van Meter; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial services for Debra Van Meter will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gaithers United Methodist Church. Pastor Lawrence Lockett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral arrangements.
