Obituary of Willie Butler

Mr. Willie B. Butler, age 62, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Butler was born Monday, January 26, 1953 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Alvin Flynn Florence and the late Willie Bea Butler Florence. Willie was born, Alvie Lamar Florence, but for his love for Elvis, he legally changed his name to Elvis Lamar Florence. Following his mother’s death, he legally changed his name again to Willie B. Butler, to honor her. Willie was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Ford Motor Company. Willie was a Christian, and he loved to preach and sing. Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Susan Lee Clements Butler; children, Tracey Lynn Dobrozsi, Philip Lamar Florence, Michael Shane Florence, Daryl Manders, and Justin Manders; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother of his oldest three children, Emily Mills. Funeral services for Mr. Willie B. Butler will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel. Reverend Harry Gann will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
