Life Legacy Mr. Jerry Lee Strickland, age 85, of Riverdale, GA, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Gentiva Nursing Home in Riverdale. Jerry was born on Wednesday, February 12, 1930 in Crawford, GA to the late Custer Lee Strickland and the late Beulah Tilley Strickland. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Sears and Roebuck Company. Jerry was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Estelle Floyd Strickland, and a grandson, Brandon Anthony Strickland. Mr. Strickland is survived by his children, Jerry Glenn Strickland, Sharon Sue Evans, Dennis Alfred Strickland, and Anthony Patrick Strickland; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Strickland will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Church of Sunny Side Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 PM.
